I'm Back!!

It has been a long time since my last blog. I am going to do better.

Tonight it is just going to be a list style blog of what has been going on at the Lane's house.

1. Soccer, soccer, and more soccer. Faith and Ace are both playing this year and so we are at the soccer field all the time.
2. Faith is enjoying 3rd grade. She got all A's on her first report card. Lowest grade was a 96. We were very proud of her.
3. Ace loves pre-school. We were a little worried about him starting this year, but he has done great and made lots of new friends.
4. Laney is still Laney. She is such a handfull somedays. She is also very fun. Never know what is going to come out of her mouth. Her favorite saying right now is "Momma you happy, are you super happy?"
5. Cody is still looking for us a new house in the country. He still wants some room. I am happy with our house in town but have agreed to move as long as it is less than 10 minutes to town.
6. I am still running some, but right now I am getting ready for my first Breast Cancer 3day. It is the first weekend in November. We walk 60 miles in 3 days. We also camp in tents for 2 nights. Not much of a tent camper so I am a little worried about how that will go.

Spring Break

Faith is spending spring break in Houston this year. She is staying with Cody's sister all week and her JoJo (Cody's mom) is picking her up and bringing her home on Friday. I am sure she will have lots of fun and get to do anything she wants. Meanwhile me and Cody are home with just two little ones this week. We all went to Houston for the weekend, and we decided on the way home Sunday that we will not be going back for awhile. Our baby has many of you have heard us say before, is quiet a handfull. It is hard to explain to anyone who has not been around her or my other kids much. She is just so unlike our other two. We have often said she would be an only child had we had her first. Anyway so back to why we won't be going back for awhile. First of all it is over a 4 hour drive for us. 2nd of all Laney never sleeps in the car. 3rd reason Ace needed to stop to go to bathroom at least 4 times driving down. Normally we would just pull to the side of road and he can take care of business there, but Friday it rained on us so we had to stop at different stores. So this turned our ride into about 4 and 1/2 hours. Not that we didn't have a great time while we were there we did. But it will be a long time before we forget the carride.

Happy spring break to all of you. Play outside some and enjoy the wonderful spring weather. And after all the rain we got everything looks and smells so clean.

I did it again!

Finished my 2nd half marathon Saturday morning in 2 hours and 16 minutes, which is 6 minutes faster than I did in Austin. The weather was cold and very windy, but thankfully the course was much flatter than Austin. I went with my running buddies from Gustine, but saw many people from Hamilton there. We had a great time. My running buddies are talking about doing the ultra marathon next year. For those who do not know what that is, it is 30 miles!! I told them that I was out. I think the half marathon is the perfect distance. Run far enough to fill like you did something, but not so far you almost kill yourself.

So now I have 3 metals. Trying to decide what I should with them, where and how I should display them. So let me know if you have any neat ideas.

I DID IT.

I ran and finished my 1st half marathon today. It took me 2 hours 22 minutes and 55 seconds. It was pretty tough lots of hills throughout the course. Cody and Ace went along and cheered for me throughout the course, it help keep me going. I have to say it was much, much, much better than the whole marathon I ran. I wasn't completely dead when I finished. I actually felt good. I am a little sore right now but not too bad. Hopefully it will be okay in morning. I am running cowtown in a couple of weeks, we will see if I can improve my time a few minutes.


Also need to send a big thank you out to Shelly for making my page. I just love it. I love flowers and purple is my favorite color. Thanks so much. You did a great job.

Also Friday I was talking to my new good friend Kristi and I told her that me and Cody didn't celebrate Valentine's Day. I also told her I that I secretly always wished that he would surprise me with a present. Well he did. I got a beautiful diamond necklace. I was very shocked. He also told not to be expecting anything else for awhile.

New Blogger

Ok this is my first blog, so don't judge me too quick. Hopefully I will get better at it. Can't promise how often I will get to blog, but my plan is at least once a week. It may be long or it may be short who knows.

So this weekend I am going to Austin to run a half-marathon. Yes I know it is crazy, but I really enjoy it. Cody does not understand why. I can't explain it either, I just like to run. It started about a year ago when I wanted to lose some weight. I started running with Kate and Carline 4 mornings a week at 5:00am. They talked me into signing up for a 10k in Ft Worth and I have been hooked ever since. I ran my first and only marathon in November in San Antonio. 26 miles is too much for this chick. Anyway me, Cody and Ace are heading to Austin Saturday morning and the big race is Sunday at 7:00am. Hoping the weather is sunny and the wind is calm. Let you know next week how it goes.
